Kate Maxted Co-founder

Born in Wimbledon, Kate grew up in the UK and studied Classics at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Upon graduating, Kate held positions at General Electric and Tudor Investment Corporation before an opportunity arose to relocate to the UAE to join the Alternative Investments Department of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Abu Dhabi in 2010. From there Kate ran the CEO’s Office of First Abu Dhabi Bank until she changed industry in 2017 to work on the Expo 2020 project in Dubai.

Raymundo Cornejo Co-founder

Ray was born and raised in the Philippines and studied Computer Technology at Lipa City Colleges. Upon graduating Ray came to Dubai – set to become the world’s smartest city- and has over 10 years’ experience working on technology projects in the Government and Private sector including building and running the Executive Office IT function at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Raymundo and Kate met while serving in the Executive Office at Expo, and as an outcome of the work from home drive during COVID and the desire to provide a platform for all to have access to the growing freelance market, regardless of background or geographical location, the concept of Scobo was born.
